SOS Children’s Village is situated in the Bambarakelle, Nuwara Eliya in the central hill country of Sri Lanka. The Village is located on Colombo-Nuwara Eliya main road, one kilometre away from Nuwara Eliya city. Nuwara Eliya is 180 kilometres from Colombo and situated at an altitude of 6,282 feet above sea level.
The second SOS Children’s Village in the country was dedicated to the children of Sri Lanka in 1985. Meant for the 10 families this SOS Village consists of an SOS Kindergarten, Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre, Youth Facility for boys and girls and a retired Mother’s home.
